Entry from: Jaipur, India Entry Title: "Agra Fort and Sikri on our way to Jaipur" Entry: "Since yesterday we were only able to see the Taj Mahal in Agra, this morning we went to visit the Agra Fort. Its located on the west side of the Yamura river (almost across from the Taj, we couldn't see it because of the pollution). It was build by emperor Akbar between 1565 & 1573. It says that this is the bigges fort in India. Or next stop already on our way to Jaipur was "Fatehpur Sikri". It was build by Emperor Akbar between 1571-1585. This was the Mughal capital for 14 years. What is interesting about this place is that the architecture and decoration is a mix/blend of different cultures and religions. You can find, Hindu, Muslim, Persian, Christin symbols mixed in the wall and architecture. As Akbar was married to 3 Queens, a Hindu (who he had a son with), a Muslim and a Christian. Next to it is the mosque where Akbar used to go pray, its named "Jami Majid". The spiritual focus of the complex is the tomb & hermitage of the mystic prist "Salim Chishti", who was the one that say the future and predicted the birth of Akbar's son.
