In honor of IWD, the Iranian Federated Womens Club (IFWC) and Payvand are proud to present the South Bay community with an opportunity to learn, discuss, and celebrate this historic event on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Cupertino Quinlan Community Center. IWD is remembered globally as a celebration for the achievements of women, and serves as an occasion for communities to recognize and honor the numerous contributions women have made to society. The first event begins at 1:00 PM and is entitled Expression through Art. For centuries, art has served as a trajectory for cultural expression across the globe. From the classical movements of dance to the subtle nuances of paintings, expression through art allows us to perpetuate our heritages and beliefs in a way anyone can internalize. Both IFWC and Payvand are honored to provide the local Iranian community with an institution that teaches new and old generations about the historical and modern-day importance of our culture and backgrounds.
